Martedì 25 ottobre, presso il Polo di Mediazione Interculturale e Comunicazione di Sesto San Giovanni,  Gao Yuanbao, professore di Lingua e Letteratura cinese della Fudan University, cercherà di rispondere a queste domande, affrontando il tema della relazione tra la letteratura cinese prodotta in Cina e la letteratura degli scrittori “borderlands”dagli anni Novanta ad oggi.

India has been for seventy years the largest democracy in the world. It is one of the fastest growing emerging economic powers. India is the country with the largest youth in the world – 650 millions of women and men with age below 25; one million of young persons entering each month the job market. This new generation is the carrier of a new culture, new identities, new initiatives; it is changing India and will have an impact over the world. But contemporary India is almost unknown to the Italian audience – or seen through the biasing lens of stereotypes and commonplaces. Ca’ Foscari University and the Italian Embassy in Delhi are organizing an event that will open a new conversation with contemporary India, introducing some of its emerging, vibrant creative communities: startup entrepreneurs, young fashion and textile designers, art and heritage institutions engaged in innovative initiatives.

Nabarun is the exclamation mark in Bengali literature. He is the emphatic interjector. His characters shamelessly hustle, behave atrociously and try to exist in a violent hostile world.
The Film tries to get into the noisy, grimy, scratchy insides of his mind. Bouncing between pure documentary and fiction, just like Nabarun.

Ci sono paesi nel mondo in cui l’omosessualità è considerata un reato. Uno di questi è l’India. A raccontare come vive oggi un gay nella patria di Ghandi è R. Raj Rao, scrittore indiano, attivista per i diritti lgbt e professore d’inglese all’Università di Pune.

Al suo attivo due coraggiosi volumi nei quali ha fatto pubblicamente coming out: Il mio ragazzo e Autobiogafia di un indiano ignoto, entrambi usciti per la casa editrice Metropoli d’Asia.
